The UK's ethical advertising website and mobile app for pet sales, studs, rehoming and adoptions. We aim to provide a user friendly, safe and secure marketplace for both domestic and licensed breeders, rescue centres and buyers.
Petify takes animal welfare seriously and follows PAAG (Pet Advertising Advisory Group) and Goverment Animal Welfare standards. Anyone breaching these guidances will be removed and banned from the website.
Lucy's Law is in place to help end puppy farming and third-party pet selling. Anyone in England and Wales wishing to buy a puppy or kitten must buy directly from a breeder or consider adopting a pet from the rescue centre. To see if the pet is not coming from puppy farming poor conditions, breeders must show puppies and kittens interacting with their mothers in their place of birth.
All adverts posted in the "Litter For Sale" category on Petify must comply with Lucy's Law. The seller must agree that the litter was bred by themselves, and the pets mother must be visible on the premises.
Legally, only two litters can be bred by domestic breeders within a year. Petify controls the number of adverts (maximum 2) posted by domestic breeders each year.
Anyone wishing to sell more than two litters within 12 months should be licensed by their local council and must be able to provide a copy of their Breeder’s Licence to us.
We will only allow licensed breeders to post more than 2 adverts per year after we have verified their license with their local council.
We understand how hard it is to rehome a pet and if you have decided to do so, we strongly recommend reaching out to your local rescue center first. If you still choose to rehome your animal yourself, be sure you get to know the stranger who will receive your beloved pet.
As of the 6th April 2016, by law, in accordance with the Microchipping of Dogs Regulations in England, Scotland and Wales, all dogs must be microchipped by the time they are 8 weeks old, and registered with an approved database.
We are checking all adverts manually and, our posting system allows us to control how many advertisements have been posted by our users each year.
As we are incapable of visiting sellers and checking on pets welfare, we suggest following Buying Advice, Puppy Contract and, Get Your Pet Safely support to understand what you need to ask before buying pets and how to spot who is the person behind them.
Do not support puppy and kitten farming. Unlawful sellers are those who can't show you the puppy or kitten mother and pressure you into making a decision. Even though it may seem tempting to save the puppy or kitten from its poor condition, thinking to do so will only promote the illegal sale. Be ready to walk away and report the situation, regardless of how difficult it may be.
Notify local authorities about any suspicious or unlawful sales. For England and Wales - call RSPCA's 24-hour cruelty line on 0300 1234 999 and, for Scotland - SSPCA on 03000 999 999.
Report any suspicious adverts to Petify by using the "Report Advert" button found on adverts.
Anyone breaching our posting rules will be removed and banned from the Petify website and app.
Using our advert posting system, you have access to numerous features that guide you through the selling process.
